Digital Advocacy and Privacy Protection Guides During Times of Crisis

Between October 2023 and February 2024, 7amleh published a set of guides on best advocacy practices, privacy protection, and digital security during crises. The guides are in response to the needs of Palestinian activists, human rights defenders and Palestinian civil society, safeguard Palestinian digital rights, and strive for fair, secure, and free digital spaces for all. These guides provide a range of advocacy tools and tactics, and protective measures for safely engaging in digital spaces during crises, given the ongoing targeting of Palestinian content and advocacy efforts through disinformation campaigns, violent incitement, and other digital rights violations.

Some of these guides were produced in collaboration with a coalition of civil society organizations who worked together to launch the "Gaza Media Resources,” an open-source library of resources and tools supporting activists, human rights defenders, civil society organizations, active Palestinian groups, and open-source fact–checkers, on topics such as digital security, open-source fact-checking, filming and documenting human rights violations during war, photography tips, and other related topics.
