7amleh – The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media works to defend digital rights and promote safe, inclusive, and informed digital spaces for Palestinian communities. As part of its Digital security programming, 7amleh seeks to develop innovative and child-friendly educational resources that raise awareness of online risks and promote safe digital behavior among children.
In this context, 7amleh plans to produce a Digital Safety Storybook for Children that presents essential digital security and protection concepts through storytelling.
The objective of this assignment is to contract a qualified Content Writer to develop an engaging, age- appropriate storybook that emphasizes key themes of digital safety and protection. The storybook will feature relatable characters who encounter common digital threats and demonstrate safe and responsible online practices. Educational messages will be embedded within a captivating narrative to ensure accessibility and impact for children.
The Content Writer will be responsible for:
Developing an original, creative, and age-appropriate narrative focused on digital safety
Creating relatable characters and realistic scenarios reflecting common online risks faced by children
Integrating key digital safety concepts in a clear, simple, and engaging manner
Ensuring the content is culturally appropriate and suitable for the target age group
Submitting draft versions of the storybook content for review and alignment with 7amleh’s
requirements
Revising the content based on feedback provided by 7amleh (up to an agreed number of revisions)
Submitting the final storybook content in a format ready for design and illustration
Children aged 7 - 12 years, with content tailored to their cognitive, emotional, and developmental levels, ensuring age-appropriate language, scenarios, and educational messaging.
The storybook should address, but not be limited to:
Online privacy and protection of personal information
Safe communication and interaction online
Identifying and responding to digital threats
Responsible and respectful online behavior
Recognizing misinformation and unsafe content
Seeking support from trusted adults when facing online risks
The Content Writer is expected to deliver:
Draft versions of the digital safety storybook content for review and feedback
One complete digital safety storybook text (30-35 pages, 2000 - 2500 words)
A brief summary outlining the educational objectives and key messages
Revised versions of the content reflecting 7amleh’s feedback
Start date: 15 March 2026
Draft submissions: During the assignment period, according to an agreed schedule with 7amleh
Final submission deadline: 15 May 2026
The timeline includes drafting, review, alignment, and revisions in coordination with 7amleh.
Proven experience in content writing, preferably for children or educational materials
Ability to translate complex concepts into child-friendly narratives
Familiarity with digital safety, online risks, or digital rights is an asset
Experience working with NGOs or educational projects is preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines
The Content Writer will work under the supervision of 7amleh’s designated project focal point and will
coordinate closely with the project team throughout the assignment.
All content produced under this assignment will be the exclusive property of 7amleh. The Content Writer may not publish, reproduce, or reuse the materials without prior written consent from 7amleh.
