From Settler Colonialism and the Remote-Control Occupation: Tech-Innovation, Neoliberal Zionism, and Digital Sumūd in Times of Genocide

7amleh has published a research contribution by Arees Bishara examining how technological innovation, military strategy, and academic research are reshaping the Israeli occupation into a system of digital settler colonialism and remote-control occupation.

The paper explores three interconnected forms of digital elimination: physical, through AI-assisted targeting; economic, through the integration of military research and development into global markets; and epistemic, through digital censorship and the erasure of Palestinian knowledge. It also examines digital sumūd as a Palestinian practice of resistance, documentation, and maintaining collective presence and connection.

The contribution is part of Digital Domination: AI, Surveillance, and Digital Power in Palestine and Beyond, published by 7amleh in collaboration with the Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies at Birzeit University.
