The workshop is part of 7amleh’s efforts to enable and promote Arabic digital content in general and Palestinian content in particular in the digital space.

7amleh – The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media on July 12 and 16 2020 held a digital workshop on “Wikipedia: Editorial Principles and Content Policies for the Encyclopedia.” The workshop provided participants with an introduction to and overview of wikipedia before discussing it’s policies and editing rules.

More than 60 people participated in the virtual workshop, and more than 2500 people were reached through the Facebook live-feed. The workshop was given by Farah Mostakbal of the Wikimedia Group of the Levant, an Wikipedia Arabic editor since 2005, and Alaa, administrator and editor of the Arabic Wikipedia and member of the Wikimedia Group of the Levant.
