7amleh as part of coalition opposes EU regulation threatening freedom of expression online

Together with 25 organisations and individuals from all over the world, 7amleh is part of a coalition opposing a regulation in the European Parliament which threatens freedom of expression online. If passed by the parliament, the law will not only influence European freedom of expression, but have global ramifications, with content removed through untransparent algorithms often causing the removal of content by journalists and human rights defenders. Instead of leading to the removal of terrorist content, these machine-algorithms are already known to falsly remove human rights content as outlined in the full letter.
