7amleh 2025 Annual Report
On the Front Lines of Palestinian Digital Rights
In 2025, 7amleh intensified its defense of Palestinian digital rights amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza and a widening landscape of digital repression. At a moment when online spaces became both lifelines and sites of harm, 7amleh worked across research, monitoring, advocacy, campaigns, and capacity building to support thousands of Palestinians and global allies confronting censorship, surveillance, disinformation, and digital violence. More than 3,294 people participated in digital security trainings (including over 1,000 children), and over 900 activists, researchers, and advocates from around the world gathered at the Palestine Digital Activism Forum (PDAF 2025). Through 7or, the Palestinian Digital Rights Observatory, 7amleh documented 3,465 digital rights violations, transforming lived experience into evidence for accountability.
2025 in Review
Throughout the year, 7amleh produced 13 major research outputs and position papers examining platform bias against Palestinians, inequalities in digital infrastructure, disinformation ecosystems, and gender-based digital violence. This body of research strengthened 7amleh's evidence-based advocacy across local, regional, and international arenas, informing sustained engagement with Palestinian civil society, government authorities, the United Nations, the European Union, and Big Tech companies to demand transparency, responsibility, and structural change.

Working Toward Change Through Strategic Campaigns
Platform Censorship & Accountability
In 2025, 7amleh advanced strategic advocacy campaigns to address platform censorship, financial exclusion, and the erosion of Palestinian digital rights. Throughout the year, 7amleh engaged with companies like Google's human rights department to escalate emerging Palestinian digital rights issues related to Google's software, services, and militarized technologies. 7amleh also maintained ongoing engagement with policy teams at TikTok and Meta to advocate for greater transparency, accountability, and the protection of Palestinian digital expression. As part of our campaign work, 7amleh launched coordinated efforts with over 50 international and local partners, 7amleh engaged GoFundMe to end the blocking of lifesaving fundraising campaigns for Gaza. Following a joint statement and campaign launch in July, over 22,000 public letters were submitted urging the platform to reverse its deplatforming practices.
Financial Exclusion & EU Censorship
7amleh continued its long-term advocacy targeting PayPal and Meta, while launching a focused campaign documenting the censorship of Palestinian voices within the European Union. By collecting user testimonies related to content takedowns, shadow-banning, and account suspensions on Meta platforms. In response to emerging moderation concerns on Bluesky, 7amleh activated its 7or Observatory and established direct communication with the platform to support user reporting and accountability.
Microsoft & Workers' Rights
In partnership with MPowerChange, 7amleh also engaged Microsoft, calling on the company to end the censorship of workers' speech on Palestine and Gaza and raising concerns over its reported role in facilitating human rights violations through services provided to the Israeli military.
