7amleh – The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media concluded on Saturday, July 27th 2019, the second training course in Digital Storytelling in cooperation with Deutsche Welle. Fourteen activists, bloggers, content creators and civil society professionals participated in the course. The training took place over the course of six intensive training sessions, which lasted for a total of 30 hours. The course aims to educate participants on various topics and techniques including citizen journalism, video and audio recording, and mobile photo and video imaging techniques to ensure the best quality of digital stories using easily accessible tools.

The training focused on the use of some of the most important techniques in the production of digital stories and the subject of data journalism and all related mobile applications in the world of audio, video and image information, blogging and podcasts. In addition, the training sessions contained (TOT): Training of Trainers activity which aims to enhance the participants public speaking and training skills.  As a result of the course, digital content was produced by the participants with the skills acquired in this course.

The training was held by the expert trainers Viktoria Kleber, working for public TV as the Tagesschau programme, Germany’s most popular news programme, expert in mobile reporting and trainer and project manager for Deutsche Welle, as well as Mohammed al Qaq, a visual artist, storyteller coach, and trainer of trainers.
