7amleh – The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media announced the start of registration for the third Palestine Digital Activism Forum (PDAF), which is scheduled for three days on 16-17-18/01/2019 in a number of Palestinian governorates.

The forum will be attended by over 30 representatives of major institutions working in the field(s) of digital media and digital rights, led by institutions such as Deutsche Welle, Association for Progressive Communications (APC), Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch. In addition, activists, journalists, students, jurists and those who are interested in the field of digital rights and social media from the West Bank, Jerusalem, Haifa, Taybeh and Gaza Strip will attend PDAF.

The first day of Palestine Digital Activism Forum 2019 will focus on three key themes: (i) the internal and external challenges facing Palestinian digital rights, activities and freedoms, (ii) global digital rights trends and their implications on the Palestinian context and finally, (iii)  interspersed series of inspirational stories of utilising digital tools to drive social change.

While the second and third days of the forum, January 17-18, 2018, will consist of 14 workshops led by regional and international trainers in various Palestinian governorates including Haifa, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Gaza, Taybeh, Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin and Gaza Strip. The workshops will be conducted in cooperation with different Palestinian NGOs and universities such as Birzeit University, An-Najah National University, Global Platform, Tishreen Association, 7amleh, Palestinian Vision, Palestinian Public Diplomacy Authority and the Palestinian NGO Network.

This annual event is possible because of the support of our partners at the Deutsche Welle Academy and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, which are committed to protect digital rights by providing a platform to discuss the challenges facing Palestinian civil society and digital activists working on the issue worldwide. As well as, providing space for exchanging experiences, developing Palestinian digital activists and entrepreneurs’ work and finding solutions to the challenges they encounter.
