7amleh (Hamleh) – Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media announced at the beginning of the month, that on 18th November 2014, we will host our first training session, titled #New_Media, which will focus on new and social media and how it can be used to awareness-raising and advocacy activities in the field of civil action.

The session will consist of 6 intensive meeting over the course of a week, and will amount to a total of 24 hours of training. The sessions will take place in the city of Haifa. This training session comes in the wake of the rising popularity of social media in two areas: the personal and the social. New and social media is defined as a quick, easy and free way to distribute information and news to a wide audience, as communication is not restricted by geographic borders. This ability to widely distribute information has the potential to influence and change world opinion. However, it is crucial that circulated information is based on accuracy, as this will build confidence with social media users.

The #New_Media session particularly focuses on activities in the field of civil action, and is targeted at those interested in the field of media generally, especially new media. There will be experts in this field speaking via Skype. The deadline to register for the #New_Media session is the 17th of November 2014. Additionally, 7amleh will be beginning a separate training session in the Naqab at the beginning of December.
